Empowering autistic children through evidence-based interventions
Occupational therapy supports focus on helping children develop the skills needed for everyday activities such as participating in kindergarten, play, and self-care routines. Occupational Therapists use a combination of standardised and observational assessments, to create a profile of each child’s individual needs.
Tailored interventions can be offered to promote the development of:
- Gross motor skills
- fine motor skills
- sensory processing
- sensory motor skills
- social participation
- self help skills including toileting, chronic constipation, feeding
- executive function skills
- play
